The Seated Light Opera Theater of Hanover (SLOTH), a group aiming to present abridged concert versions of operettas, mainly Gilbert and Sullivan, to audiences in the greater Hanover area, has formed at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 124 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331.

“SLOTH” holds weekly one-hour rehearsals on Thursdays at 12:00 noon in the Emmanuel UCC Adult Choir room. The group welcomes good singers with or without previous theater experience, and may be especially attractive to experienced performers who like the idea of daytime rehearsals; or who are attracted to non-traditional casting; or those who have never tried theater because they feel choreography-challenged and/or memorization-challenged. No audition is required for chorus members, solo parts will be assigned on the basis of informal auditions, and roles may be double cast.

“SLOTH” will performed for the first time during the Victorian Concert at Emmanuel UCC on April 20, 2008.

For additional and/or further information, please call the Emmanuel Church Office at (717) 632-8281, or speak with Cathy Elkiss or Susan Bagot.
